Four Arrested in Osun for Causing Bandit Panic

On February 18, 2026, the Osun State Police Command arrested four suspects in connection with an incident that caused public panic in the Ila Orangun area. The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Idri Abubakar, 19-year-old Abubakar Audu, 16-year-old Ahm Abubakar, and Moham Omotayo, were accused of writing "bandit today today" on a wall in the Ajegunl area, which led to fears of a bandit attack among residents.

The police, under the command of spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi, stated that the arrests were part of proactive measures to prevent a breakdown of law and order. Preliminary investigations revealed that one suspect admitted to the act, claiming ignorance of its implications.

The police urged the public to avoid actions that could incite panic and assured residents of their safety.
