Four Arrested in Assassination Plot Over Land Dispute

The Anambra State Police Command arrested four male suspects—Obiora Nwankwo (38), Chiadikobi Okoye (36), Emmanuel Mboko (42), and Ifeanyi Obi (37)—over an alleged plot to murder a businessman and unlawfully take over his landed properties in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area. The arrests occurred on Wednesday at various locations in Ukwulu and Amichi, following strategic intelligence operations directed by the state Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Ama.

The Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, in collaboration with Agunechemba security personnel from Amichi and Nnewi, executed the operation based on credible intelligence. During the arrests, two firearms and live ammunition were recovered.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were involved in a conspiracy to commit murder and seize property. The suspects are currently in police custody, and further investigations are ongoing to identify additional individuals connected to the plot and clarify each suspect's role.
