Police Raid Church Disguised Criminal Hideout in Akwa Ibom

On Wednesday, police in Akwa Ibom conducted a raid on a criminal hideout that was disguised as a church in the Ndiya Mfia community of Ikono Local Government Area. The operation took place in the early hours, prompted by credible intelligence indicating that the suspects were using the religious center for criminal activities.

During the raid, seven suspects were arrested, including a preacher identified as Brain Ebeka. The police spokesperson for Akwa Ibom, Timfon John, confirmed the arrests and stated that firearms and incriminating items were recovered from the facility.

The arrested individuals included Kenneth Eziekiel, Dickson Ndueo, Abang Rowland, and three female suspects: Esther Okon and Joi Okon. This operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat crime disguised under the guise of religious institutions.
