Housewife Arrested for Slitting Husband's Throat in Katsina

On June 29, 2026, Sadiya Lawal, a 23-year-old housewife, was arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly attempting to murder her husband, Jamilu Ibrahim. The incident took place while Ibrahim was asleep, during which Lawal reportedly attacked him with a knife, inflicting a deep cut to his neck.

Following the attack, Ibrahim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq confirmed that officers visited the scene, recovered the knife used in the attack, and arrested Lawal, who remains in custody pending charges.

The police command is also engaged in ongoing operations to combat crime in the region, including recent efforts to foil a bandit attack in Dandum Local Government Area, where two operational motorcycles and machetes were recovered.
