Housewife Arrested for Attempted Murder of Husband

Sadiya Lawal, a 23-year-old housewife, was arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly attempting to murder her husband, Jamilu Ibrahim, on June 29. The incident occurred in Katsina Metropolitan around 5:30 AM when Ibrahim was asleep.

Lawal reportedly attacked him with a sharp knife, resulting in deep cuts to his neck. Ibrahim narrowly escaped death and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Following the attack, he managed to reach a nearby medical facility where doctors treated his injuries. The police were alerted to the situation when Ibrahim arrived at the Central Market Police Division with serious injuries, narrating his ordeal.

The police commenced an investigation, leading to Lawal's arrest and the recovery of the knife used in the attack. The police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, stated that Lawal remains in custody while investigations continue to establish the motive behind the attack, and she will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
