Abuja Police Arrest Woman Linked to Lover's Death

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command arrested Mrs Rukayat Muhammed for her alleged involvement in the death of her lover at a guest house in Gwarimpa, Abuja. The arrest was announced by CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi on September 26, 2026.

The deceased, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reported missing by his family before his body was discovered on August 26, 2026, along the Kubwa Expressway by Katampe under the bridge. Initial reports suggested kidnapping or robbery, but police investigations revealed the deceased was the same person reported missing.

Investigators found that Rukayat, who was in a romantic relationship with the deceased, had saved his contact under the name “Safiyat” and they had stayed together at Good Samaritan Guest House. After discovering the deceased unresponsive, Rukayat left the hotel with his mobile phone instead of reporting the incident.

Hotel management later found the body and two members, Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, attempted to conceal the incident by moving the body to the roadside. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of death and any further involvement.
