Police Arrest Two Suspects in Kano Market Attack

The Kano State Police Command confirmed the arrest of two suspects, Sadiq Ayuba (18) from Darmanawa Quarter and Abdulganiyu Abba (38) from Mariri Quarter, linked to the attack on the popular GSM market on April 28, 2026. Following a discreet intelligence-led investigation, the police apprehended these individuals, with Ayuba confessing that he was mobilized by Mallam Hassan to carry out the attack, which resulted in significant property damage, including a Toyota ambulance and a tricycle belonging to Shamsuddeen Sani.

A total of seven suspects were arraigned on May 13, 2026, at Magistrate Court Number 2, Nomansland, Kano, facing charges of criminal conspiracy, incitement, unlawful assembly, possession of deadly weapons, and mischief. CSP Abdullahi Haruna stated the command's commitment to bringing justice to the individuals behind the violent attack and urged the public to provide credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
