Delta Police Arrest Kidnappers and Drug Peddlers in Delta

On April 4, 2026, the Delta State Police Command conducted a successful operation in Ika South Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of Henri Obi, a 34-year-old native of Anambra State, who confessed to being a member of the Aiy confraternity. The operation, executed by the police raider unit based on credible intelligence, resulted in the recovery of an English-made pistol, six rounds of live ammunition, and illicit drugs concealed within an air conditioning unit.

Following this, on April 5, 2026, the police collaborated with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) to carry out a coordinated raid at the Hausa Market along the Benin-Asaba Expressway. This operation led to the arrest of four suspects—Yakubu Umar (19), Galiu Adamu (17), Nuhu Musa (16), and Zaraduwu Usman (21)—and the recovery of a large quantity of illicit drugs, including Colorado, Canadian loud weed, Indian hemp, and tramadol, along with cash and weapons.

All suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
