Delta Police Foil Cult Attack, Arrest Seven Suspects

The Delta State Police Command reported a significant breakthrough in its efforts to combat violent crime by foiling a planned cult attack and dismantling an armed robbery network. The operation, led by ASP Julius Robinson of the Special Assignment Team, took place late on February 27, 2026, at 11:35 PM in the Ekredjebor area of Ughelli, following credible intelligence.

During the raid, the police apprehended seven suspects, including Oghenemaro Festu from the Upper Agbarho area. The operation resulted in the recovery of three firearms, including a pump-action gun, and 27 live cartridges.

Investigations revealed a strong link between the suspects and a series of house robberies that had instilled fear among residents. The police have intensified efforts to track down other fleeing members of the gang.
