Pastor Arrested for ₦2.5 Million Jerusalem Scam

Kehinde Makinde, popularly known as Pastor Kenny, was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 3, 2026, following four months of surveillance. He is accused of obtaining ₦2.5 million from 18 fellowship members in Saje, Adatan, under the false pretense of organizing a government-sponsored pilgrimage to Jerusalem, promising each member ₦2 million.

Additionally, Makinde is alleged to have fraudulently manipulated victims under the guise of spiritual deliverance across Ogun, Oyo, and Osun States. The arrest was confirmed by the police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, who stated that the suspect remains in police custody while efforts are ongoing to identify additional victims and apprehend any accomplices involved in the fraudulent activities.
