Seven Arrested in Benue Passenger Abduction Case

The Benue Police Command has arrested seven suspects linked to the abduction of passengers on April 15 in Otukpo. The arrests were confirmed by the command's spokesperson, DSP Edet Udem, who stated that the operation was part of a coordinated search and rescue mission involving various security agencies targeting the Amla Forest area.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention, although the exact number of those rescued has not been disclosed. Udem clarified misinformation circulating on social media, asserting that the victims were not part of a convoy transporting students for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as previously claimed.

The Commissioner of Police, Ifeanyi Emenari, assured residents that the command is intensifying efforts to rescue any remaining victims and urged the public to provide credible information to assist ongoing operations.
