Five Kidnap Victims Rescued in Benue After Ordeal

In Benue, five individuals were rescued by police after being kidnapped while traveling to Otukpo. The victims, including a man named Franci, were abducted around 8 PM when armed men, reportedly speaking Hausa and English, stopped their vehicle.

The kidnappers ordered everyone to the ground, beat the victims, and forced them into the bush while robbing them of valuables. During the ordeal, the driver of the vehicle disappeared, leaving the passengers confused and terrified.

Franci managed to escape and ran until he reached Otukpo at 4 AM, where he encountered local Idoma people who helped him. The state Commissioner of Police, Ifeanyi Emenari, confirmed that five people were rescued on Wednesday night, but he could not provide details about the driver or the circumstances of the kidnapping.

A total of 18 passengers were involved, with 13 still unaccounted for as the police continue their rescue efforts.
