Rivers Police Arrest Suspect for Kidnapping and Rape

The Rivers State Police Command arrested a 24-year-old suspect in connection with an alleged kidnapping and rape case. According to ASP Bless Agab, the police spokesperson, the arrest followed a complaint lodged by a young woman who reported that she was taken into the bush in Ulakwo, Etche Local Government Area, where she was assaulted, raped, and robbed of her valuables.

The victim was later released by her abductor. The incident was reported on Saturday, prompting the police to commence an investigation using technology-driven strategies, which led to the suspect's apprehension.

The suspect later confessed to the crime, and items including a mobile phone and a wig belonging to the victim were recovered. The police are continuing efforts to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.

The suspect will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation. The public has been advised to exercise caution when engaging with strangers online and to avoid meeting unknown individuals in isolated locations.
