Rivers Police Arrest Three Kidnappers, Rescue Victims

The Rivers State Police Command announced the arrest of three high-profile kidnappers and the rescue of two victims. The suspects, identified as Hinedu Okoro (38), Okwudiri Njoku (32), and Onyema Sundai (25), were apprehended during an operation on April 14, 2026.

They specialized in luring unsuspecting victims from various parts of the country through social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook, often posing as reputable individuals. One of their intended victims, Chisom Nwokolo Georg, was invited to Anambra State under the pretext of a job offer in interior decor.

The police spokesperson, Bless Agab, confirmed that the suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping operations, including the abduction of Jennifer Nnaji on March 1, 2026, and Lakan Ayodel. The police recovered a motorcycle during the operation and are actively pursuing the gang leader and other members.

State Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju reassured residents of ongoing efforts to ensure safety and security.
