Nigerian Police Arrest Cyber Fraudster Linked to Microsoft 365 Attack

The Nigerian Police Force's Cybercrime Center (NPF NCCC) arrested a suspect in Abuja, Nigeria, connected to a cyber attack on Microsoft 365 email accounts. The attack utilized a sophisticated phishing toolkit named RaccoonO365 to deceive users into entering their credentials on a fake Microsoft login portal.

The operation, triggered by credible information from Microsoft and the FBI, led to the recovery of digital devices and the identification of key suspects, including Okitipi Samuel and Mose Felix. Investigations revealed the suspects' use of a Telegram channel to market fraudulent Microsoft login portals hosted on Cloudflare.

No evidence of cryptocurrency fraud was found so far.
