Police arrest suspected kidnap kingpins in Abuja, recover rifles, cash

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command in Abuja has arrested two suspected kidnap kingpins, Masud Abdullahi and Muhammad Tahir, and recovered rifles, cash, and other items. The arrests were made following a collaborative operation with the Nasarawa police command after a report was received on August 16, 2025, about a kidnapping incident in an estate in Karu, Abuja.

The suspects were apprehended on August 17, 2025, after intense pressure was mounted on the kidnappers, leading to the safe release of the victim, Henry Chichi. The police intercepted the assailants along the Guraku axis highway in a red Opel Vectra vehicle, where Abdullahi and Tahir were arrested.
