Police Arrest Two Drug Dealers in Anambra State

The Anambra State Police Command arrested two male suspects, Nzube Onyedikachukwu, alias “Onyeoma,” aged 47, and Ugochukwu Azia, aged 20, for allegedly running a hard and illicit drug hideout in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area. The operation took place in the early hours of Tuesday, following credible intelligence regarding the suspects' activities.

A raid conducted by operatives from the Rapid Response Squad led to the recovery of substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa, methamphetamine, and other illicit drugs valued at ₦6.2 million, along with ₦598,400 in cash. The operation was in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were involved in drug distribution, and some accomplices fled upon police arrival. The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue to trace the source and distribution network of the drugs.
