Police Arrest 17-Year-Old for Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl

The Airport Police Command arrested 17-year-old Benjamin Daniel for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the Sabo Masalashi area of Bassa, Abuja. The incident took place on August 15, 2026, and was reported by the victim's mother at the Abuja Airport Police Division.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Adeola, Daniel allegedly lured the girl into his room under the guise of purchasing soya bean cake. After the assault, the Divisional Police Officer contacted the victim's parents, ensured she received medical attention, and mobilized personnel to arrest Daniel.

He was taken into custody, and his statement was recorded in the presence of his mother, adhering to juvenile procedures. The police are prioritizing the girl's welfare during the investigation, which will conclude with Daniel being presented before a juvenile court.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olufunke Ogunbode, condemned the assault and emphasized the command's zero tolerance for sexual violence.
