Four Kidnappers Arrested in Rivers State, Arms Recovered

The Rivers State Police Command arrested four suspected kidnappers in Ikwerr Local Government Area on February 25, 2026, following a discreet investigation into a series of abductions. The suspects, identified as Usman Dan Mama (20), Abdullahi Kabir (27), Idri Ismaila (20), and Moham Dalandi (22), are believed to be responsible for multiple kidnapping incidents, including the abduction of an engineer along the Port Harcourt International Airport road.

Families of the victims reportedly paid ransoms totaling N9 million for their release. The police operation, conducted by the Anti-Cultism Unit, led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, a cut-size single barrel gun, and 20 live cartridges.

The suspects confessed to their involvement in several kidnappings within the region. Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adewol Adepoju, emphasized the commitment to ensuring safety and security in the state and urged the public to provide credible information to assist in combating crime.
