Rivers Police Arrest Four Suspected Kidnappers in Major Bust

The Rivers State Police Command achieved a significant breakthrough in combating kidnapping and violent crime by arresting four suspects linked to multiple abductions. The operation followed the kidnapping of Favour Chika on February 25, 2026, with a ransom of three million naira reportedly paid for her release on March 2, 2026.

The suspects, identified as Usman Dan Mama (20, from Mubi, Adamawa State), Abdullahi Kabir (27, from Damaturu, Yobe State), Idris Lsmaila (20, from Taraba State), and Moham Dalandi (22, from Yobe State), were apprehended along the Ipo Ozaha farm road. A search led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, a single-barrel gun, and twenty live cartridges.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to several kidnapping operations in the Ikwerruta and Ali Omagwa areas, including the abduction of Engr Okoro Osita on February 12, 2026, and other incidents where ransoms of three million naira were paid. The Rivers State Police Command, under CP Olugbenga Adewol Adepoju, emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents.
