Two Arrested in Ekiti Varsity Hostel Robbery Incident

On Saturday, at approximately 2:30 PM, the Ekiti State Police Command received a distress call regarding a robbery at a private hostel off-campus in Iworoko, Ado Ekiti. The suspects, identified as Abdulraman Abdulmumini, 26, and Abdulsalam Oseni, 31, forcibly entered the hostel and stole items including two mobile phones, two digital radios, a pair of shoes, and clothing.

Following the report, the police, led by spokesperson Sundai Abutu, initiated an operation that led to the arrest of the two suspects at their hideout. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and mentioned other gang members who are currently at large.

The police are conducting an ongoing investigation and have urged the public to provide credible information to assist in apprehending the fleeing suspects and recovering the stolen items. State Commissioner of Police Michael Falad emphasized the importance of community support in curbing criminal activities.
