Two Arrested for Theft and Vandalism at Ondo Hospital

The Ondo State Police Command arrested two individuals in connection with vandalism and theft at the Ondo State General Hospital located in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area. The first suspect, Promis Godspow, allegedly accessed the hospital premises unlawfully and removed electrical items, leading to significant damage to government property.

The incident was reported on May 6, 2026, after concerned citizens informed the police. DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, stated that Godspow was apprehended following a preliminary investigation that included gathering photographic evidence of the damage.

Additionally, security officer Pogbara Sigalo was arrested for allegedly abandoning his duty post at the time of the incident, which allowed the crime to occur. The police are intensifying their investigation to determine if there were any accomplices involved in the theft and vandalism.

Both suspects are expected to face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
