Edo Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Iyamho

On April 27, 2026, the Edo State Police Command arrested two suspected kidnappers, Sani Kabir, 23, and Hamza Nuhu, 25, in Iyamho, near Edo State University. The arrests were made following credible intelligence and a swift police operation in response to reports of kidnapping activities in the area.

The police recovered significant items from the suspects, including two Dane guns, live AK-47 rounds, two cutlasses, a hunter's headlamp, four cans of gunpowder, assorted charms, and several locally made bullets. The Commissioner of Police, Agbonika, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
