Edo Police Arrest Five Kidnappers, Rescue Victim Unharmed

On May 13, 2026, the Edo State Police Command successfully arrested five suspects involved in the kidnapping of Jemila Ibrahim, who was abducted on May 10, 2026. The operation, which involved a sustained combing of the bush around Okpeg River Road in Iyuku Community, Jattu, resulted in the rescue of the victim unharmed.

The police spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed that the victim was taken to a hospital for medical attention following her rescue. The arrested suspects include Nura Saminu (24), Shaibu Isah (23), Suraj Sabitu (23), Yajubu Sagiru (23), and Oseni Abdullahi (26).

They are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Mondai Agbonika, commended the officers involved in the operation and reassured Edo residents of the command's commitment to fighting kidnapping and violent crime in the state.
