Edo Police Arrest Robbery Suspect and Recover Firearms

On May 2, 2026, the Edo State Police Command reported a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat crime by arresting a robbery suspect named Aliu Mustafa. The arrest followed a swift police response to a robbery that occurred in the Auchi area, specifically at the residence of Mr.

Okologho Prosper, located near Comprehensive Secondary School. The police were alerted to the incident and promptly mobilized a patrol team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the suspects fled in different directions, abandoning a bag that contained a locally made firearm, live cartridges, and a mobile phone. An immediate manhunt was launched, leading to the arrest of Mustafa at 9:00 AM.

Further investigations resulted in the recovery of two additional mobile phones and a wristwatch, all identified as stolen items belonging to the victim. The Edo State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Eno Ikoedem, commended the professionalism and dedication of the officers involved and urged the public to continue providing credible information to assist police efforts.
