Police Arrest Two Suspected Robbers in Lagos Operation

The Lagos State Police Command arrested two suspected members of a robbery syndicate on Monday following a routine stop-and-search operation along Iyana Ipaja road. Officers intercepted a tricycle carrying three occupants, and upon searching, discovered three Android phones believed to be stolen from a victim.

The situation escalated when the tricycle rider attempted to flee, raising suspicion and triggering a manhunt. The abandoned passenger, identified as Ademola Ibrahim, was arrested and reportedly confessed to being part of a robbery syndicate known for targeting commuters along routes including Idimu, Iyana Ipaja, Egbeda, and Dopemu.

The police later identified the fleeing tricycle rider as 26-year-old Raheem Lawal. The operation resulted in the recovery of the stolen phones and ongoing investigations to track down other members of the syndicate.

The police reiterated their commitment to dismantling criminal networks and urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement.
