Police Arrest Three Robbery Suspects in Lagos

On Thursday, the Lagos State Police Command arrested three robbery suspects linked to a string of attacks in Sangotedo, Lagos. The suspects, identified as Balogun Teslim, Suleman Balogun, and Peter Oluwagbemi, were apprehended following a swift response to a distress call from residents.

The police recovered several incriminating items from the suspects, including a locally made pistol loaded with six rounds of live 9mm ammunition, two black face masks, a hammer, a large roll of cellophane tape, two black jackets, and a pair of pliers. The robberies occurred between April 11 and April 13, 2026.

During the operation, the suspects were reportedly members of a mob but were later rescued by the police and rushed to a medical facility for treatment. Abimbola Adebisi, the police spokesperson, stated that preliminary investigations yielded significant breakthroughs, with two suspects confessing to the crimes and identifying a gang leader named Kinslei, while efforts continue to track down other fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network.
