Police Assure Lagos Residents After Mushin Market Bombing

A bomb explosion took place in Mushin Market, Lagos, during rush hour, causing panic among residents. Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani confirmed that one person was injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The police promptly deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to the scene, which was cordoned off for a thorough search. Preliminary findings indicated that the explosive device was planted beneath the passenger side of a vehicle and detonated when the engine started.

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu declared a firm stance against terrorism, stating there would be no retreat in the fight against criminal elements in Nigeria. He made these remarks during a stakeholders' consultation meeting in Lokoja, emphasizing the need for collaboration among police, traditional rulers, and community leaders to address security challenges.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reiterated the government's commitment to improving security in the state.
