Police Arrest Three in Lagos Cyber Fraud Bust

On January 7, 2025, the Nigeria Police Force, under the command of Assistant Inspector General Olohundar Jimoh, arrested three individuals in Lagos suspected of being part of a cyber fraud syndicate. The operation was conducted by the Zonal Intelligence Department in the Lekki Ajah area, following a coordinated intelligence effort aimed at curbing fraud-related crimes across Lagos and Ogun states.

The suspects, aged 24, 33, and 36, were apprehended after the youngest suspect was first intercepted while driving a luxury vehicle along Chevron Drive. Subsequent searches of their residences led to the arrest of the other two suspects.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the trio played distinct roles within the cyber fraud network, with the 24-year-old allegedly coordinating operations and creating fraudulent accounts, while the 33-year-old managed financial transactions and collected illicit proceeds.
