Nigerian Police Launch Nationwide Sanitation and Health Outreach

To commemorate the 2026 Police Week, the Nigerian Police Force launched a nationwide community outreach initiative that included sanitation exercises and free medical services. The program, approved by the Inspector General of Police, aimed to enhance public perception and foster trust between the police and the community.

Activities included street cleaning and basic health checks, with police officers engaging directly with residents. In Abuja, officers cleaned areas around motor parks and markets, receiving positive responses from the community.

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, also participated in similar activities, emphasizing the importance of a clean environment. In Oyo State, CP Olugbenga Abimbola highlighted the outreach's role in addressing security concerns, particularly kidnapping, and stressed the need for collaboration between the police and the public to ensure safety.

The initiative took place simultaneously across multiple states, reflecting a commitment to community engagement and public health.
