Kano Police Launch Statewide Sensitization for Security

The Kano State Police Command has commenced a statewide sensitization initiative to strengthen operations aimed at improving safety and security across the state. This announcement was made in a statement on Thursday, signed by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command's public relations officer.

The initiative is under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Bakori and aligns with directives from the Inspector General of Police to dominate public spaces against criminal threats. A high-level meeting was conducted to enhance inter-agency collaboration and tackle crime effectively.

The police are intensifying engagement in both metropolitan and rural areas to establish sustainable community policing initiatives. Additionally, the command has consulted with traditional rulers and community leaders to address security challenges, particularly in border local government areas.

The police also disclosed plans to expand intelligence gathering and proactive surveillance strategies across identified hotspots in the state. They thanked residents for their cooperation and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
