14 Confirmed Dead in Plateau State Attack on March 29

On March 29, 2026, the Plateau State Police Command confirmed that 14 individuals were killed during an attack in Angwan Rukuba. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM when assailants on motorcycles opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in panic among residents.

Initial reports indicated that 12 bodies were found at the scene, comprising 10 men and two women, with two additional bodies recovered later during a search of the surrounding area. The police, led by Commissioner Bassei Ewah, dispatched a team to the scene to manage the situation and restore order.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that up to 27 people may have been killed, with some victims later succumbing to injuries in hospitals. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, representing the Berom Youth Moulder Association, urged security agencies to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.

The police have intensified efforts to investigate the incident and prevent further violence in the area.
