Kogi Police Launch Crackdown on Obscured Number Plates

The Kogi State Police Command has commenced a statewide enforcement exercise aimed at vehicles with obscured or invalid number plates. The initiative, announced by ASP Oyiza Afusat, is in line with directives from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The enforcement aims to strengthen public safety and deter criminal elements using unidentifiable vehicles for criminal activities. CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi has directed the area command and the motor traffic police division to ensure full compliance within their areas of responsibility.

Vehicles found in violation will be impounded and subjected to investigation according to existing laws. ASP Afusat advised motorists and transport operators to ensure their vehicles display valid and clearly visible registration number plates and to keep relevant documents readily available for inspection.
