Anambra Police Deploy 60 Operatives for UTME Security

The Anambra State Police Command announced the deployment of 60 operatives to designated centres for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which is scheduled to take place from April 15 to April 26, 2026. The deployment, confirmed by police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga, is part of a proactive measure under the Safe School Initiative aimed at providing a secure environment for candidates and invigilators.

The operatives will be stationed across eight police area commands in the state, coordinated by Assistant Commissioner of Police Harrison Oruruo. The initiative seeks to prevent malpractice and ensure that the examination process is conducted without disruptions or security breaches.

The police command reassured the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging candidates and stakeholders to abide by the law and cooperate with security personnel during the examination period.
