Enugu Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt, Kill Suspect in Gun Battle

The Enugu State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Adani-Nsukka road, resulting in the death of an armed suspect and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle. The incident occurred during a gun battle in the early hours of Sunday, January 18.

The police, led by spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe, engaged the kidnappers in a shootout, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest. Efforts are underway to arrest the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network responsible for the abduction.

Police Commissioner Mamman Giwa commended the officers for their bravery and professionalism in ensuring the safety and security of Enugu residents.
