Driver Detained for Allegedly Killing LASU Student in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has detained a driver for allegedly killing a Lagos State University (LASU) student named Azeezat in a fatal motor accident that occurred in the Igando area of Lagos State. The incident took place around 7:00 PM on a Saturday, and the police were prompted to act following reports of the accident.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Igando promptly visited the scene. The victim's body was deposited at the mortuary, and the vehicle involved in the incident has been impounded for further investigation.

The case has been transferred to the area command for further handling. The police assured the public that necessary legal actions would be taken in accordance with the law and urged residents to remain calm as the investigation continues.

Following the incident, a video circulated on social media showing LASU students demanding justice for the deceased, alleging that police officers were attempting to shield the driver involved.
