Lagos Police Dismiss Cult Clash Rumors, Assure Safety

The Lagos State Police Command has officially dismissed rumors circulating about a potential cult clash in the state, describing the claims as false and urging residents to remain calm. In a statement issued on Monday, Abimbola Adebisi, the command's public relations officer, emphasized that proactive measures have been taken to prevent any breakdown of law and order in the affected areas, which include Shitta, Akerel, Itire, Aguda, and Ishaga.

The command has deployed police personnel to identify and secure locations surrounding these communities following initial reports. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai has ordered an intensification of security measures across the area, including increased patrols and police visibility in identified flashpoints to ensure the safety of lives and property.

The command also cautioned against the spread of unverified information that could incite panic and encouraged the public to rely on official sources for updates while remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies.
