Police Dismiss False Terror Attack Video in Abuja

The Nigerian Police Force has officially dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that alleged an ongoing terrorist attack in Abuja, describing it as false and misleading. The police confirmed the arrest of a suspect, Pam Joseph, linked to the creation and dissemination of the misleading content.

The video, which caused panic among residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), falsely claimed that 1,000 blindfolded terrorist fighters were flown into Abuja by military aircraft. The police clarified that the movement of suspects related to an ongoing Boko Haram trial was misinterpreted.

Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi disclosed that 500 Boko Haram suspects are currently on trial at the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja. The police emphasized that the video was manipulated to incite fear and panic, urging the public to verify information before sharing.

The police command, led by Ahm Muham Sanusi, reassured residents of Abuja's safety and urged vigilance against suspicious activities.
