Police foil bandit attack, rescue 2 hostages in Bauchi

Bauchi Police successfully thwarted a bandit attack in Kataraje village, rescuing two hostages on August 8. The Bauchi command spokesman, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident, stating that armed bandits had abducted Ango Mallam Idi Musa and Alhaji Shumo.

During the raid, two residents, Rabiu Alhaji Sale and Alhaji Sale Akko, were injured. The command's joint operation team, alerted by vigilant residents, swiftly mobilized to the area.

Following a pursuit and exchange of gunfire, one bandit was killed, and the hostages were rescued unharmed and reunited with their families. Commissioner of Police CP Aliyu commended the operatives for their courage and professionalism.

The command reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens and dismantling criminal networks, urging residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information for security operations in the state.
