Police Rescue Five Kidnapped Victims in Sokoto Attack

The Sokoto State Police Command, led by DSP Ahmad Rufa, successfully foiled a bandit attack on the evening of the incident. At approximately 8:45 PM, a distress call was received indicating that hoodlums were shooting sporadically and had abducted six individuals traveling in a canter truck loaded with charcoal along the Rabbah-Maikujeru Village road in Rabah Local Government Area.

In response, a tactical team from the police, in collaboration with military personnel, was immediately deployed to the scene. During the operation, five of the kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed, while the canter vehicle used in the abduction was recovered.

The rescued individuals were reunited with their families, and the vehicle remains in police custody pending further investigation. The police command noted that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects and has urged local residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in crime prevention.
