Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims in Sokoto State

On Wednesday, at approximately 8:45 PM, bandits blocked a road in Sokoto State and opened fire, abducting six individuals traveling in a canter truck loaded with charcoal. The Sokoto State Police Command, led by Ahmad Rufa, swiftly deployed a joint team of police tactical operatives and military personnel to the scene after receiving a distress call.

The security forces engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, ultimately overpowering them, which allowed for the rescue of five of the six kidnapped victims, who were found unharmed. The canter vehicle used by the victims was also recovered.

The rescued individuals were reunited with their families, while the vehicle was placed in police custody pending further investigation. The police spokesman disclosed that efforts are intensifying to locate the sixth victim, who reportedly fled into the nearby forest during the attack.

The command has also directed neighboring police divisions to maintain high vigilance to prevent further criminal activities in the area.
