Police Foil Bandit Attack, Neutralize Suspect in Katsina

On August 25, 2026, at approximately 6pm, the Katsina State Police Command received a distress call regarding suspected armed bandits on motorcycles heading towards Dansarai and Kamfani villages. The Malumfashi Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), mobilized a team of police operatives and personnel from the Vigilance and Civilian Response Unit (VCRU) to intercept the attackers.

The security team strategically blocked the routes and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, successfully repelling the attackers, who fled in disarray. Following the encounter, the body of one suspected bandit was recovered during a search of the area.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, commended the officers for their bravery and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to combating banditry and ensuring public safety. He urged the public to provide timely information on suspicious activities to aid security efforts.
