Police Neutralize Kidnappers, Arrest Kingpin in Ogun

On Saturday, Ogun State Police, led by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, conducted an operation that resulted in the neutralization of two kidnappers and the arrest of a suspected kingpin, Seriki Moham Abdullahi, and a gang member, Moham Bello. This operation followed intelligence-led investigations into the kidnapping of three individuals in the Iperin Atan area on Monday.

The victims were released on Thursday after an unspecified ransom was paid. The police intensified efforts to track down the gang responsible for the abduction, which occurred on May 15, 2026.

During the operation, police engaged in a gun duel with the suspects, resulting in the neutralization of two gang members and injuries to others who escaped into the surrounding forest. The police recovered an AK-47 rifle, ten rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, a single-barrel gun, and cash amounting to 1,500,000 naira.

The Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of Bode Ojajuni, commended the operation's professionalism and resilience.
