Police Neutralize Bandit, Recover Weapons in Katsina

On July 29, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a joint tactical team comprising police operatives and personnel from the Katsina State Community Watch Corps responded to a distress call regarding an armed bandit attack in Sabon Gulbi Village. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Musawa mobilized the team, leading to a fierce gun battle with the attackers.

The operation successfully neutralized one bandit, while others fled with various gunshot injuries. Following the confrontation, the police recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine with five rounds of live ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing suspects.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, commended the collaboration between the police and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, praising the operatives for their bravery and professionalism. He reaffirmed the police command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities.
