Police Neutralize Bandits, Recover AK-47 in Sokoto

On July 4, 2023, the Sokoto State Police Command responded to a distress call regarding a large number of heavily armed bandits attacking Daray Village. The police deployed personnel from the Anti-Kidnap Unit and the Village Crime Reduction Unit (VCRU) to the area as part of their tactical response.

The operation aimed to reinforce security and prevent further criminal activities in the region. The police spokesman, Ahmad Rufa, confirmed that the operation led to the neutralization of the suspected bandits and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.

The Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, commended the officers involved in the operation and reaffirmed the command's commitment to intensifying efforts to eliminate banditry and ensure the safety of lives and property across Sokoto State.
