Police Launch Manhunt for Armed Robbers in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for two masked men who allegedly attacked a 48-year-old man in his home located in the Charlisco area of NPA Express Road, Effurun, within the Uvwie Local Government Area. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am on September 4, 2026.

According to the command's spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, the victim confronted one of the suspects armed with a locally made shotgun, resulting in a struggle that caused the firearm to break. During the altercation, the second suspect struck the victim on the forehead before both men fled the scene, abandoning the broken firearm.

The incident was reported to the Ekpan Division at around 6:14 am, prompting the Divisional Police Officer to deploy operatives to the location, where the firearm was recovered. The victim was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment, while police efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects commenced.
