Police Seize Ammunition Concealed in Garri in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command, led by Adekimi Ojo, intercepted 98 rounds of live ammunition concealed in a bag of garri during an operation on Ajas Ipo Road. The operation was prompted by suspicions regarding a vehicle believed to be conveying illegal arms from Kogi State.

Two suspects, Emmanuel Jerri and Umar Abdulmumeen, were arrested, while a third suspect, identified as Abdullahi, remains at large. Investigations revealed that Abdulmumeen allegedly received N1.3 million to procure the ammunition.

The police are committed to protecting lives and properties and are collaborating with security agencies to ensure that criminal elements do not find safe haven in Kwara State. In a separate case, police arrested Lukman Abdul Salam and Aliu Ismaila for a shop break-in, recovering items worth N2.5 million.

Additionally, two suspects, Fabiyi Benson and Sodiq Rashe, were arrested in Ganmo Area following a distress call, with a cut-size shotgun and live cartridges recovered.
