NDLEA Seizes Military-Grade Ammunition in Kaduna

On May 12, 2026, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 1,989 rounds of military-grade 7.62mm ammunition concealed inside a sack of garri along the Abuja-Kaduna highway. The suspect, 35-year-old Abdullahi Hassan, was apprehended during this operation.

Femi Babafemi, the agency's Director of Media and Advocacy, confirmed the seizure and stated that further investigations are underway. In a related operation, 361 kg of skunk was recovered, and a suspect named Husaini Suleiman, aged 42, was arrested in Zaria, Kaduna State, on May 13, 2026.

The NDLEA continues to conduct operations across the country, focusing on drug trafficking and related crimes, with multiple seizures recorded in various states.
