Nigeria Police Launch Green Fleet with CNG Buses

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has initiated a green fleet initiative by receiving three specialized compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. This event took place at the police headquarters in Abuja and was attended by key stakeholders, including the NPF leadership and representatives from the Nigeria Police Trust Fund and CNG EV.

The donation marks the first phase of a long-term collaboration aimed at overhauling the police operational fleet. The initiative is designed to convert existing vehicles to CNG, which is expected to significantly reduce fuel expenses and promote cleaner energy use across the force.

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the transition aligns with global best practices in resource management. The newly acquired buses will enhance personnel welfare and operational mobility, with plans underway to establish a housing conversion center to ensure long-term maintenance of the technology.

The event concluded with a formal handover of the vehicles, underscoring a shared commitment to equipping the NPF with cost-effective, environmentally friendly transport solutions.
