Nigeria Police Launch Welfare Bus Scheme for Personnel

The Nigeria Police Force has announced the commencement of a welfare bus scheme aimed at improving the transportation and overall welfare of its personnel in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The initiative, disclosed by Ahm Sanusi, is set to begin operations on April 27, 2026, following approval from Inspector General Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The scheme will deploy three compressed natural gas buses along designated routes within the FCT. The first bus, registered as NPF 7993 D, will operate from Goshen, Auta Balefi, passing through Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya to Area 11, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The second bus, registered as NPF 7994 D, will serve the Zuba Division Headquarters, moving to Madalla, Abubakar Police Barrack, Brick City, Kubwa, Duts Junction, and Area 11, Force Headquarters. The third bus, registered as NPF 7992 D, will operate from Kuje Division Headquarters, covering Kuje Police Barrack, Airport Road, Lugbe Stadium, and Area 11, Force Headquarters.

The buses are scheduled to depart daily at 6:15 AM. Sanusi emphasized that this initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the welfare and working conditions of police personnel, contributing to improved service delivery and operational efficiency amid rising transportation costs.
